WFSA Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowships in Kenya 2025

The University of Nairobi together with the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists is offering up to three 12-month Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowship positions starting in September/October 2025.

Fellows will be based at the Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi and will also rotate through various hospitals with active paediatric surgical programmes. There is a robust didactic teaching programme that includes an online learning platform with facilitators from all over the world.

About World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA)

After the end of the Second World War anaesthetists found that international travel became more widely available. This coupled with a desire to learn from others and exchange experiences led, through a series of other meetings, to the establishment of an Interim Committee which met in 1953 and 1954. Aim and Benefits of Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowships

The successful applicants will receive funding to cover tuition, accommodation and subsistence living expenses.

Requirements for Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowships Qualification

• Must be supported in their application by their own national anaesthesiology society which must be a member society of the WFSA.
• Must be supported in their application by their head of department or hospital management.
• Must be returning to their home country to a recognised post.
• Should ideally be working in a teaching hospital.
