This scholarship has been established to honour the memory of Dr Ijeoma Ejekam Idaresit, an alumna of LSHTM, who passed away in tragic circumstances in 2020 and who was passionate about supporting maternal health in Nigeria and across West Africa.

Aim and Benefits of Dr Ijeoma Ejekam Idaresit Fund Scholarships
This scholarship, with a total award value of GBP 2,000.00, is intended to help fund research and travel costs associated with MSc projects of students on the intensive MSc Public Health programme. The total funding may be awarded to a single student or split between up to 3 students.

Requirements for Dr Ijeoma Ejekam Idaresit Fund Scholarships Qualification
- This scholarship is open to students currently registered on the intensive MSc Public Health programme at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
- Students must be West African nationals (with their LSHTM student record showing one of the following nationalities: Benin, Burkino Faso, Cabo Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo). Preference will be given to students from Nigeria, and students with an interest in maternal health and/or mental health.

- Log in to the Scholarships Application Portal via e-vision using your LSHTM login details.
- Please search for ‘Dr Ijeoma Ejekam Idaresit Fund Scholarships’ if you wish to apply for this funding, and then answer all the questions online and attach any documents required as part of your application.
- Application Form – can be accessed by clicking here. Please complete all tabs of the excel document, which includes:

- Budget – The budget should provide a full list of projected costs for the MSc project, and include justification for the costs. Please highlight which costs are to be covered by the scholarship, as well as show details of how other costs will be covered.
- Timetable – Please provide a timetable for the project work.
- Supervisor Letter of Support – Applicants will need to upload a supporting letter from their supervisor for the proposed project work for which they are requesting funding. You will not be able to submit your application without attaching this letter to your online application.
- Once you are happy with all your responses you can press submit and you should receive a confirmation of receipt email at your LSHTM email address.
- The scholarships portal will not be able to accept applications after the deadline stated below.
- The Scholarships team will be in touch with an outcome in due course.
