Applications are now open for the Allan Gray Makers 2025 Entrepreneurship Inter-College Competition for South African Students. The aim of the Inter-College competition is to foster a culture of entrepreneurship in TVET students. Registration is open to students who are enrolled at any of the 50 Public TVET Colleges in South Africa for the 2025 academic year.
The seed of the Allan Gray Makers programme was first planted in 2018 when the trustees’ ideas about entrepreneurship in Africa gravitated towards technical and vocational trades. At that time, an intervention in the vocation space did not exist in any of the Gray entities and so the Allan Gray Makers programme was born as a pilot project. The aim of the pilot was to prove models that work in this new vocational and technical context in South Africa to accelerate entrepreneurship and create jobs. The competition consists of an easy online application form. The application process will be followed by three rounds: College internal rounds, regional rounds, and a national grand finale in September 2025.
