Krystle Kabare, born in 1987, was a gifted student. She excelled in her studies at both the Aga Khan Primary school and the Mt. Kenya Academy and was awarded a scholarship at Rabun Gab Nacoochee in Atlanta, Georgia (USA) for her high school education. She then went on to attain a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Agnes Scott College in the USA before rounding out her academic achievements with a Master of Science in Peace and Development Studies in Sweden.
In her career, she worked for HelpAge International and later at Development Pathways Kenya, where she developed a passion for human rights and development while working as a Social Policy Specialist. She had a keen interest in helping persons living with disabilities and it is this interest that is the inspiration for the Krystle Kabare Scholarship.
